Tournament Successes

Throughout the season, players notched up regular tournament successes

The Fisherwick Tournament

This is another example of a flexible tournament which has provided Methody players with the opportunity to compete with senior Ulster club players, this competition running from October to March.

Chris Millar won the intermediate section with 7 points from 11 games while Ananda Srinavasan finished on 7 points from 16.

Waterfront Hall Rapidplay Tournament

The RVH Rapidplay Tournament

In this competition, Ananda Srinivasan again recorded rapidplay success. He won a tiebreak to finish first in the novice section.

The Williamson Shield Challengers Tournament

In this two-day competition consisting of six three hour rounds, Chris Millar finished joint first.

Playing in the same rated section, Chris Millar finished the tournament as the sole unbeaten player with 4.5 points from six to become joint winner of the competition, while Ananda Srinivasan narrowly missed out on a grading prize with 3 points from 6.

The Belfast & District League Division 1

In Ulster’s premier senior club competition Methody’s Chris Millar and Ananda Srinivasan played for the Malone team based in Fisherwick Church. Both players made significant contributions to help the team narrowly avoid relegation in the elite six-team division.

Ananda Srinivasan competed in four games on board 5 gaining an excellent 3 points from four. Chris Millar, playing regularly on boards four and five, gained 4 points from 9. Methody old boy, and member of the 1995 MCB British Schools Championship winning team, Ian Davis also played for the side.
