Bangor Chess Club Sam Lynn Memorial Classic 2023/2024

The six-round tournament is set to begin next month.

This season, Bangor Chess Club will hold the Sam Lynn Memorial Classic on the following 3 dates pre-winter break. The final 3 rounds will be scheduled for Jan-March 2024.

This tournament is 1 classic game per night at a time control of 60+0 and restricted to players rated U1800. The tournament will run on nights when the Bangor league team are playing home matches. It will be UCU rated.

ROUND 1:

Thur 26th Oct: 7:45pm to 9:45pm

ROUND 2:

Thur 9th Nov: 7:45pm to 9:45pm

ROUND 3:

Thur 30th Nov: 7:45pm to 9:45pm

It costs £20 to play in the event which runs for 6 rounds across the season. There will be 3 bands with perpetual trophies awarded to Champion, Intermediate Champion and Junior Champion. Where possible, players will be paired with others within the same grading band to ensure as close a match as possible.

FIDE rules will apply.

Players must preregister at least 24 hours before a round.
